Tuesday, April 1st, 2008An important aspect of preparing any type of art show is to find a location that you would like to live in for about a week; because in all seriousness that is about the length of time that it will take you to jury, hang and make it ready for an opening. This is a lesson that I have learned the hard way over the past few days. I have spent all of my time at the Parkside Communication Arts Gallery preparing the Student Art Show. I was not completely alone in setting up this show though, lucky for me I had a few friends who were dedicated enough to put in some long hours collecting work and sorting though the endless stacks for insurance forms. Although, there were plenty of hard learned lessons, over all it has been worthwhile. Next time that I put on a show, wherever it should be, there is a lot of tricks and things that I now know that will make the experience a thousand times easier. Now if I only had some time to study for art history…
